Your Trial Period for This App Has Expired – Error in Windows 10

So you already got used to Windows 10 and things are working fine and suddenly one day you want to open calculator and you receive this error message “This app can’t open. Your trial period for this app has expired. Visit the Windows Store to purchase the full app. WTF! I didn’t know the calculator was on trial! You may also encounter this error with other pre-installed Windows applications. Here is what I did to solve the This app can't open error.

1. Make sure your Windows Firewall is Enabled

– Go to Search, type services.msc, and open Services.
– Find Windows Firewall, right-click on it, and choose Properties.
– Under Startup type dropdown select Automatic. Click Apply.
– In the top left portion of the Services Window, Click Start this service.

2. Open Windows PowerShell

– Go to Search, type powershell, right-click on PowerShell, and choose Run as Administrator.
– Enter the following line into the PowerShell:

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

– Press Enter, and wait for the process to finish.

Now check your problematic apps now, the problem with trial license should be solved. My calculator is fine and back from the dead!
